Peruvian Palo Santo sticks 3pk
A tree species native to South America, used for incense, aromatic oil, and indigenous medicine packed in cellophane packet (not plastic) barcoded
Palo Santo or ‘Holy Wood’ is harvested in Peru by our supplier who works under strict government regulations that are closely monitored.
The timber only works as a sacred wood if it has had a natural deathand is collected after 4 years of the tree falling.
It needs this time frame before the real properties of the tree manifest.
The document for special area collection is called the “Guia Forestal” or Forest Document. It is required to export Palo Santo, along with various other permits from the Ministry of Agriculture.Only after all permits and documents are in place, is our supplier then able to pick up dead timber from authorised areas.
No random cutting down of living trees is permitted in any way and heavy fines/imprisonment can apply.
The picked up timbers are then taken and cut into small pieces by local people and this helps support their villages in 3rd world locations.
We only works with this supplier in Peru as they are honest and ethical in the running of their business.
